Last updated 9/25/08 On August 23, 2008 educators, administrators, school support personnel and members of the community began the process of developing guidelines for the proposed special education regulations: Chapter 60. These guidelines are intended to help schools and families understand how to implement the regulations. Here is a brief PowerPoint presentation that explains the Guidelines process. The Work Group began its process with a number of Prior Agreements made between the Department and the Ch. 56/60 Community Work Group. Members will decide how or whether to incorporate these suggestions into the finished Guidelines. You are encouraged to follow the work of the Chapter 60 Guideline Work Group and to provide your input on the clarity and usefulness of the Guideline language. Here are links to the four subgroups working on the Guidelines and their work to date: Group 1 - Eligibility & Evaluation Group 2 - Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Group 3 - Due Process, Definitions, Confidentiality & Private School Placement Group 4 - Discipline & Miscellaneous |
